Manchester United transfer news: Raiola sounding out new clubs for Pogba
Mino Raiola is trying to convince clubs around Europe to sign Paul Pogba from Manchester United this summer, reports Sports Illustrated.
Pogba’s future at United has been cast into doubt in recent weeks after a strain in relationship with manager Jose Mourinho.
The United manager only added fuel to the flames after naming Pogba as a substitute against Sevilla in the first leg of the last 16 Champions League tie on Wednesday night.
Mourinho has no desire to sell Pogba despite their differences and still believes the France international is integral to his plans going forward.
However, all is not well at the moment and Pogba’s agent is now actively trying to persuade clubs around Europe to offer his client a way out of Old Trafford at the end of the season.
United shelled out £89m to sign Pogba from Juventus in 2016 and it’s unlikely that any club around Europe would be willing to match that fee, let alone pay what Mourinho’s side would demand.
Unsurprisingly, no team has reacted positively to Raiola’s attempts and for now at least it seems Pogba will have to work through his differences with Mourinho.
Despite what has been a tough few weeks for the 24-year-old, Pogba has generally been very good this season. In fact, only two Premier League players have registered more assists than the United No.6 this season (9).
