Paris Saint-Germain captain Thiago Silva believes Angel di Maria is joining a bigger club as he undergoes a medical ahead of his impending £44.5m move to the Ligue 1 champions.
Di Maria, 27, is currently in Qatar with PSG’s owners going through the final steps before completing his move to the Parisien outfit putting an end to a disastrous 12-month stint at Manchester United.
Real Madrid (£518.9m) were the only side ranked higher than United (£423.8m) in Deloitte’s annual football rich list earlier in the year, but according to Silva, the Argentina winger – who will become the most expensive football in football history (132.6m) – is moving to a bigger club in PSG.
“People now need to respect PSG as one of the big clubs in Europe,” Silva is quoted as saying by Teamtalk.com.
“Real Madrid and Barcelona are probably on another level, but after that if you join PSG you are probably taking a step up.”
Despite failing to settle in the Premier League last season, only Cesc Fabregas (160.6mins) required fewer minutes per assist than Di Maria (164.5mins).

Its not a bigger club but a better team.
@kummerspeck Agreed.
Haha haha what is this guy on? PSG may be a wealthy club but they are not and never will be bigger than United. They play in a moderate league with little or no competition. Di Maria is looking for an easy life nothing more nothing less.
@Cathalp66 agreed, think Silva forgot to consider fanbase, trophies, history and tradition
