Everton ready Martinez replacement

Joachim Low has emerged as a surprise contender for the Everton job should Roberto Martinez be given his marching orders, according to the Daily Mirror.

Martinez has come under intense pressure at Goodison Park having failed to achieve his aims for the club, with his future set to be discussed by the board at the end of the season.

Speculation suggests that the Spaniard's time at Everton is coming to an end and Low has since been instilled as the bookies favourite to succeed Martinez.

Low will oversee Germany's Euro 2016 campaign, but is widely expected to to step down from his role in charge of the national team upon the culmination of the tournament.

Andre Villas-Boas has also been linked with a switch to the Toffes, with the former Chelsea and Tottenham boss departing Zenit at the end of the season, though Low remains favourite to take over the reins at Everton.
