Tottenham end 18-month run without a signing

Tottenham have made their first signing in 18 months after confirming the arrival of Leeds teenager Jack Clarke.

The 18-year-old has put pen to paper on a four-year deal with Tottenham until the summer of 2023 and has returned to Leeds to spend next season on loan.

Clarke is Tottenham's first signing since Lucas Moura's arrival in January 2018 and the Premier League outfit have reportedly paid £8.5m for the teenager.

"I'm delighted to join Tottenham and in the short-term I'll be giving my all to hopefully help Leeds win promotion," he told the club's official website.

Tottenham are also closing in on a club-record deal to sign Lyon ace Tanguy Ndombele, with Ryan Sessegnon and Giovani Lo Celso also on their radar.

Clarke enjoyed an impressive breakthrough campaign for Leeds last season and has previously been linked with a move to Manchester City.

He played on either wing and made 24 league appearances for Leeds, playing a direct hand in four goals (two goals, two assists) in that time.

Furthermore, only Said Benrahma (3.3) completed more dribbles per 90 than Clarke (3) of players aged 23 and under in the Championship last season (20+ appearances).
