Lionel Messi is set to join French giants PSG this week on a two-year deal, with the option to extend by a further year, reports Fabrizio Romano for The Guardian.
Messi confirmed his Barcelona exit earlier this week following the culmination of his contract with the Blaugrana.
Barcelona made desperate moves to keep the Argentine at Camp Nou, but were unable to come to an agreement due to league implications, even with Messi prepared to take a 50% pay cut.
As such, Messi will move to Paris, where he will link up with former Barcelona teammate Neymar, who departed the Spanish giants in 2017.
PSG have already made serious moves in the transfer market, bringing in Achraf Hakimi, Gianluigi Donnarumma, Georginio Wijnaldum and Sergio Ramos as they seek to wrestle their Ligue 1 crown back from Lille.
The French outfit are also keen on securing the Champions League having come close in 2020 before exiting the competition at the semi-final stage earlier this year at the hands of Manchester City.
