Manchester City will test Tottenham's resolve for Harry Kane this summer, claims The Guardian.
Kane is desperate to start winning trophies and accepts his best chance of that is away from boyhood club Tottenham.
The England captain has reportedly even reaffirmed his desire to leave Tottenham to chairman Daniel Levy and believes he has a verbal agreement with the club to leave.
Kane will not be short of suitors this summer but Tottenham are in no rush to sell their star player and will demand well in excess of £100m for his signature.
The 27-year-old is only half way through the six-year deal he signed in the summer of 2018, giving Tottenham all the power over his future.
While Levy may reluctantly agree to listen to offers, the Tottenham chairman will try and force his exit abroad rather than strengthen one of their Premier League rivals.

City are on the market for a new striker this summer with Sergio Aguero departing after the Champions League final at the end of the month.
Pep Guardiola has basically played this entire season without a recognised striker and has identified Kane as a top transfer target.
Manchester United are also interested in Kane but he is no longer a priority signing after extending Edinson Cavani's contract by another year.
City are focused on ending the season with their first ever Champions League trophy but then plan to open talks with Tottenham about Kane's future.
Joining City certainly represents Kane's best chance of silverware but agreeing a deal with Levy will prove problematic for any club interested.
Kane is both the leading goalscorer and assist maker in the Premier League this season with 35 goal contributions to his name.
