Manchester United fear two-month rehab for De Gea

Manchester United fear star goalkeeper David de Gea could miss the next two months with an injury picked up on international duty with Spain, claims The Sun.

De Gea limped off after 60 minutes of Spain's 1-1 draw with Sweden on Tuesday night after tweaking his groin clearing the ball.

The 28-year-old emerged as an immediate doubt for Sunday's Premier League clash with league leaders Liverpool but now United are fearing the worst.

De Gea will undergo further tests to determine the true extent of his injury but there are fears at United he could be sidleined for two months.

The Spain international has made 89 consecutive appearances in the Premier League and his absence on Sunday would be a huge blow.

Sergio Romero will come in for what will be just his eighth Premier League appearance in four years at United.

The Argentina international is considered one of the best back-up goalkeepers in the Premier League and has kept six clean sheets in his previous seven league outings for the club.

Nevertheless, the absence of De Gea comes at a bad time for United head coach Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, who is coming under increasing pressure following the club's worst start to a league campaign in 30 years.
