Juventus confident of Pogba stay

Juventus chief executive Giuseppe Marotta is confident Paul Pogba will remain with at the club over the summer and ignore expected interest from the Premier League.

Pogba, 23, is one of the most sought after players in Europe and has been heavily linked with a move to the likes of Chelsea and Barcelona in recent months.

Incoming Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reportedly earmarked the France international as one of his top transfer targets in the summer and is hopeful that his previous working relationship at Juventus puts them in pole position to sign the powerful midfielder if he decides to leave Italy.

However, Juventus have no desire to let the former Manchester United midfielder leave at the end of the season and are confident he will not depart.

“Pogba is a Juventus player and still has an ongoing contract with us,” Marotta is quoted as saying by The London Evening Standard.

“Plus he has also told us about his intentions to stay with us. All the conditions are there for him to continue with Juventus for the upcoming years.

“The Juventus jersey is something you honour right until the end. It is not a foregone conclusion that he will stay at Juventus, because nothing is ever guaranteed in football, but it is highly likely that he will stay put.”

Of players to have attempted at least 150 dribbles since the start of last season, only three players have done so with a great success rate than Pogba across Europe’s top five leagues (68.3%).
