Bournemouth will look to test Chelsea’s resolve in the summer with another move for versatile defender Nathan Ake, reports The Daily Mail.
Ake, 22, joined Bournemouth on a season-long loan deal at the start of the season but his impressive performances led Antonio Conte’s side to trigger a recall clause at the start of the year.
Eddie Howe’s side staged a stunning £18m move for the Chelsea academy graduate on deadline day only to be rebuffed by the Premier League leaders but the Cherries will look to reignite their interest again in the summer.
Ake has struggled for game time since returning to Stamford Bridge and didn’t even feature in their FA Cup quarter-final win over Manchester United on Monday.
With Andreas Christensen set to return to Chelsea from his loan spell at Gladbach in the summer, Ake’s first-team chances will be even more restricted next season.
Since playing his last game for Bournemouth in their 3-3 draw for Arsenal, the Cherries have only won one of the resulting nine matches in all competitions.
