England striker ruled out for up to six weeks

West Ham United will be without Andy Carroll for up to six weeks with a knee injury, report The Daily Mirror.

Carroll, 27, sustained the injury after coming on as a second half substitute in last week’s Europa League game against Astra Giurgiu.

The former England international now joins West Ham’s club record £20m signing Andre Ayew on the sidelines and dashes his hopes of featuring in Sam Allardyce’s first England squad at the start of next month.

Of players that have scored more than six Premier League goals in 2016 only six players have done so quicker than Carroll (every 137.7 mins).
