Tottenham agree to Harry Kane departure

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy will not stand in Harry Kane's way of leaving if they receive an offer of £160m this summer, claims The Sun.

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has earmarked Kane as a top transfer target after releasing Sergio Aguero earlier this summer.

The Premier League champions reportedly had a £100m proposal knocked back by Tottenham during Euro 2020.

Kane has already strongly hinted he wants to leave Tottenham in search of silverware but is concerned Levy will price him out of a move.

It has now emerged Levy will not prevent Kane from leaving but it remains to be seen whether City will match Tottenham's eye-watering valuation.

Tottenham are in a strong position over Kane's future as the 27-year-old still has three years left to run on his existing deal.

City's current club-transfer record is the £65m paid for Ruben Dias last summer so it would be a huge departure from their usual policy to get a deal for Kane over the line.

Guardiola's side are also hopeful of signing Aston Villa captain Jack Grealish this summer but the spiralling costs involved in both transfers could scupper their plans.

Kane finished last season as the top goalscorer (23) and top assister (14) in the Premier League, becoming the first player to achieve the feat since Andy Cole in 1993/94.
