Man City in advanced talks over De Bruyne's new contract

Manchester City are confident of securing Kevin De Bruyne's best remaining years on a new long-term contract, reports The Times.

De Bruyne still has three years left to run on his current City deal but Pep Guardiola's side are keen to address his long-term future.

The 29-year-old has developed into one of the best players in the Premier League since joining City from Wolfsburg in 2015.

City want De Bruyne to finish his career with the club and while terms are yet to be agreed over an extension talks are heading in the right direction.

The Premier League outfit have already reached out to De Bruyne's legal representatives and there is a willingness from both sides over a bumper new deal.

City are proposing to tie De Bruyne down way into his 30s and by doing so now they will prevent any talk of a blockbuster move to the likes of Real Madrid next summer.

In fact, De Bruyne is the highest WhoScored rated player (50+ apps) in the Premier League since joining City (7.63).
