Napoli are closing in on the arrival of PSV Eindhoven star Hirving Lozano in a deal worth €42m (£39.1m), claims Gianluca Di Marzio.
The Serie A giants have rekindled their interest in Lozano after failing in their attempts to sign Real Madrid creator James Rodriguez.
Napoli also missed out on Nicolas Pepe to Arsenal but are on course to prise Lozano from PSV after the Dutch side failed to qualify for the Champions League group stage.
Carlo Ancelotti’s side are understood to have agreed a €42m deal with PSV and are now ironing out Lozano’s terms with his controversial agent, Mino Raiola.
Napoli endured problems negotiating the transfer of another of Raiola’s clients, Kostas Manolas, earlier this summer.
However, talks are progressing well and Napoli are increasingly confident of signing Lozano before the transfer window shuts later this month.
Lozano has only featured in one of PSV’s opening two league games this season amid talk of a move away.
The 24-year-old has played a direct hand in 50 goals in 60 league appearances (34 goals, 16 assists) since joining PSV from Mexican side Pachua, who will be entitled to a cut of his transfer fee to Napoli.
