Lallana poised for new Liverpool terms

Adam Lallana is on the cusp of agreeing a mini-extension with Liverpool that will contract him to the club until the 2019/20 campaign finishes, reports The Daily Mirror.

Lallana's existing deal is due to expire at the end of this month, which would see the ex-England international miss Liverpool's last few games of the season.

With Liverpool on the brink of securing their first league title in 30 years, Jurgen Klopp has been keen for Lallana to stay with the group and enjoy the celebrations.

Lallana was once a key player under Klopp but has struggled for first-team action since repeated hamstring problems in 2017/18.

The 32-year-old, who is wanted by Leicester boss Brendan Rodgers, has even agreed to a reduced salary and accepts Klopp will prioritise players who will be at the club next season in their remaining matches.

Lallana has been forced to accept limited playing time from the bench this season, making more substitute appearances (12) than any other Liverpool player in the Premier League.
