Out of favour Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas has emerged as a surprise transfer target for Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola, according to the Sun on Sunday.
The Spain international has struggled to force his way into the Blues starting XI under Antonio Conte, making just one Premier League start this season, that coming in the 3-0 away defeat to Arsenal.
Reports suggest Fabregas is set for a move away from Stamford Bridge in January, with Serie A duo AC Milan and Juventus both keen on taking him to Italy.
However, City have emerged as a possible destination for the 29-year-old, where Fabregas would link up with former manager Guardiola once again.
The pair worked together in Guardiola’s final campaign at the Camp Nou helm, where Fabregas scored nine goals and registered eight assists in La Liga to earn a WhoScored rating of 7.44 in Spain's top tier and won four trophies in his first season back in Spain.
Guardiola is supposedly concerned at the lack of creative thrust from midfield and has earmarked Fabregas as a potential target with a view to a £20m move in the New Year.

I admire fab. just look at his characteristics. Thats incredible 4 (very strong) skills and no team wants him. Its the media power. in my opinion the best for is leicester, because they need a deep lying midfielder who sends accurate long balls to the jet strikers (vardy and mousa). Leicester also suffer from bad passes and weak holding of the ball.so they need him the most.
