Arsenal will move for Borussia Dortmund striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang if Alexis Sanchez leaves this month, reports Gianluca Di Marzio.
Manchester City are widely expected to rekindle their interest in Sanchez this month and that will force Arsenal into signing a replacement for the Chilean.
Arsenal failed in their attempts to sign Monaco winger Thomas Lemar in the summer and now Liverpool have moved ahead of them in the race for his signature.
It means that Arsene Wenger may be forced to look elsewhere for Sanchez’s successor and the Arsenal manager has identified Aubameyang as a potential replacement.
The Gabon international has been heavily linked with a move to the Emirates in the past and may now be forced to consider the Gunners after missing the boat on a dream move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona.
Aubameyang has endured a turbulent season with Dortmund and the Bundesliga giants are reportedly running out of patience with the 28-year-old.
Off field tensions have not impacted Aubameyang’s performances on it, as he has still netted 13 Bundesliga goals in 15 appearances this season – only Robert Lewandowski has scored more (15).
