Hull City striker out for a month

Hull City have confirmed they expect to be without Abel Hernandez for up to a month after the striker suffered a small tear in his hamstring muscle.

Hernandez, 26, has struggled to stay fit all season and that has limited his availability for the Tigers this season.

Marco Silva will be confident Hull will be able to cope without the Uruguay international over the next month having added plenty of new faces to the squad in the January transfer market.

However, the relegation strugglers are also now going to be without Michael Dawson for a few weeks after the experienced defender suffered a calf injury in the warm-up of their win over Liverpool last weekend.

Following Robert Snodgrass’ exit last month, Hernandez was the club’s current top goalscorer (3), level with Dawson.
