West Ham starlet re-joins Gladbach on loan

West Ham have confirmed Reece Oxford has returned to Germany to spent the remainder of the season on loan at Gladbach.

The Hammers only recalled the 19-year-old from his loan stint with Gladbach at the end of last year but the teenager has been pushing for a return all month.

Gladbach were even willing to bid £15m to sign Oxford on a permanent basis earlier this month but have succeeded in getting him on a temporary basis.

"Reece Oxford has returned to Germany on loan with Bundesliga club Borussia Monchengladbach," a statement read on West Ham's official website.

Oxford’s career has drifted since making an impressive Premier League debut against Arsenal on the opening weekend of the 2015/16 campaign.

The England U20 international has only made seven Premier League appearances for the Hammers since then and endured a disastrous loan stint in the Championship with Reading last season.

Oxford only featured in 180 minutes of Bundesliga action with Gladbach prior to returning to the London Stadium at the end of 2017, but is highly rated by the Germany outfit.
