Liverpool eye shock move for former West Brom midfielder

Liverpool have identified former West Brom midfielder Grzegorz Krychowiak as a potential replacement for Emre Can this summer, claims The Sun.

Can left Liverpool to join Juventus at the start of the month and Jurgen Klopp wants to sign a replacement despite the arrivals of Fabinho and Naby Keita.

Krychowiak spent last season on loan at West Brom but the Poland international struggled to make any impression, making Liverpool’s interest even more of a shock.

The 28-year-old still has three years left on his current Paris Saint-Germain deal but is unlikely to have any sort of future under new manager Thomas Tuchel and is now free to sort his future after Poland were knocked out of the 2018 World Cup in the group stage.

The defensive midfielder was regarded as one of the best players in his position during his time in Sevilla but his stock has diminished at a tremendous rate since leaving the Spanish side in 2016.

Krychowiak made 27 league appearances for West Brom last season but garnered a poor WhoScored rating of 6.62, making just 1.5 tackles per game and 1.7 interceptions per game.
