Tammy Abraham insists he is targeting a spot in Antonio Conte’s starting line-up when he returns to Chelsea at the end of the season.
The 19-year-old has flourished on loan at Championship side Bristol City so far this season to earn a call-up into the England Under-21 squad.
Abraham has been in sensational goalscoring form and is determined to carry that on for Chelsea next season, as he looks to impress Conte from now until the end of the season.
“I think with the new manager coming in the chances are there because we can see he’s been playing youngsters,” Abraham told Sky Sports.
“It’s a case of when you get the opportunity you have to impress and give your all. Everyone has their time and hopefully my time will come soon.
Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Ola Aina and Nathaniel Chalobah have all featured this season, while Victor Moses’ Chelsea career has been resurrected since Conte’s arrival.
Chelsea paid more than £30m to sign Michy Batshuayi from Marseille in the summer and where reportedly determined to sign another striker, although Abraham will be hopeful he can fill that spot when his loan deal ends at the end of the season.
Only Dwight Gayle (11) has scored more goals in the Championship than Abraham (8) this season.
