Isco has revealed he wouldn’t find it hard to leave Real Madrid if he fails to force his way into Zinedine Zidane’s first team plans.
The Spain international has dropped down the pecking order at Madrid since Zidane’s arrival and found first team opportunities hard to come by.
Isco, 24, was heavily linked with a move away from the European champions in the summer only to remain at the club, but his circumstances haven’t really changed and he has now revealed he would be open to leaving.
“Leaving at Christmas is an option that I’m not contemplating,” Isco told Spanish radio station Cope, via AS. “I’m not going to give up so easily, but if at the end of the season I see that I haven’t played much, I will look at my options.
“I’m 24 and if I don’t find a place in the starting XI, I’d like to move on. I know what I can do well and if not here, then I’d like to be able to do it elsewhere.
“I’m happy in Madrid, but what footballers want is to progress and if I can’t here, I wouldn’t have a problem in looking for an exit. My objective, though, is to triumph at Madrid.”
In the last four La Liga campaigns on Cristiano Ronaldo (181) has created more chances for Madrid than Isco (171).
