Tottenham ace admits interest in Chinese move

Tottenham star Mousa Dembele has admitted the Chinese Super League represents an attractive option for players entering the final phase of their career.

Chinese Super League sides have already spent huge amounts of money to secure some of the biggest names in world football and are expected to continue their bigger month splurge this month.

The likes of Oscar, Carlos Tevez and Dembele’s Belgium international teammate Axel Witsel have already made the move and the Tottenham ace has revealed it’s an option that is attractive for aging players.

“It’s a very difficult choice [moving to China]. For young players who are still growing, it is not wise to go. For older players maybe it’s different,” Dembele told Het Nieuwsblad, via London Evening Standard.

“But honestly I have no idea about the level of the championship there. It is hard to say.”

Dembele has developed into one of the best central midfielders in the Premier League under Mauricio Pochettino but has struggled with ankle injuries this season.

Of players to have attempted at least 50 dribbles in the last three Premier League campaigns Dembele has completed them with the best success rate (86.2%).
