Newcastle to target Crystal Palace star if takeover goes through

Newcastle will make a move for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha if the £300m takeover goes through, reports The Sun on Sunday.

The Magpies are expected to undergo a major squad revamp in the summer with a huge boots in funds should the Saudi-led takeover be completed.

Indeed, Newcastle have been linked with moves for Gareth Bale and Kalidou Koulibaly of Real Madrid and Napoli, respectively in recent weeks.

What's more they are considering approaching former Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino as a replacement for Steve Bruce if the new owners elect to change managers.

And Zaha could follow a number of high profile new faces to St. James' Park with the Ivorian linked with a transfer to the Tyneside powerhouse.

The Eagles have previously demanded around £80m for Zaha if interested parties are to firm up their interest in the winger, but that fee could drop due to the Coronavirus pandemic.

27-year-old Zaha has struggled for consistency in front of goal for Palace this term, having netted three goals and provided three assists, but ranks second for successful dribbles (136) behind Wolves' Adama Traore (145).
