Manchester City midfielder Fabian Delph will miss the next seven weeks through injury, Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed.
Delph, 26, has endured an injury plagued campaign since making the switch from Villa over the summer and would now appear a doubt for the European Championship’s at the end of the season.
The City midfielder will now be out for almost two months with an Achilles tendon injury, Pellegrini confirmed in his pre-match press conference prior to their huge match with Spurs on Sunday.
“Delph is worse as he has a problem with his Achilles tendon. He needs six or seven weeks to recover.”
City have only won two of the five league games in which Delph has started in this season (40%), compared to a vastly improved win percentage without him in the starting XI (60%).
