The agent of Paris Saint-Germain winger Angel di Maria is in talks with Atletico Madrid about a potential summer switch, claims Spanish radio show El Larguero, via Cadena Ser.
Di Maria has been heavily linked with a move away from PSG in the last 12 months following the arrival of Neymar and even came close to joining Barcelona last summer.
Ernesto Valverde’s side appear to have cooled their interest in the Argentina international but now Atletico are interested in prising Di Maria back to Spain this summer.
Atletico want to hold onto Antoine Griezmann but are preparing for his eventual departure and have earmarked Di Maria as a potential replacement.
Di Maria spent four years at Real Madrid before leaving to join Manchester United in 2014 but his representatives have now reportedly held talks with city rivals Atletico.
The 30-year-old has made 29 appearances in Ligue 1 this season, but that is mainly due to the fact Neymar has been injured since the end of February.
Di Maria will return to being a substitute when Neymar makes a full recovery and knows he will have to leave in order to find regular playing time, with Atletico keen.
The PSG No.11 has scored 11 goals and provided six assists in Ligue 1 this season, his best goal return in a single league campaign in the last decade.
