Forsberg categorically not for sale despite Bruma arrival at RB Leipzig

 

RB Leipzig sporting director Ralf Rangnick has insisted that Emil Forsberg will not be sold this summer, having attracted interest from the likes of Liverpool, Arsenal and Serie A, according to Bild.

 

The Sweden international enjoyed a sensational first season in Germany’s top-flight, helping the newly promoted Leipzig to a Champions League finish.

 

With the extra commitments that come with European football, Rangnick has moved to rubbish any suggestions that the club’s best players will be sold, stating: "These are Christmas wishes in the summer. We have already twice adjusted the contract of Emil”.

Forsberg was certainly a top performer last season, registering more assists (19) than any other player in Europe’s top 5 leagues, and won’t be sold despite the expected arrival of Galatasaray winger Bruma.


The Portuguese international is set to sign for RB Leipzig this deal for a fee in the region of €15m, having ended the previous campaign as WhoScored.com’s highest rated player in the Super Lig (7.69).
