Celta Vigo has agreed personal terms with Lyon striker Claudio Beauvue and must now agree a fee with the Ligue 1 outfit to complete the move, according to L’Equipe.
Beauvue is widely expected to leave the club this month and was touted with a move to Aston Villa earlier in the transfer window.
However, reports emerged suggesting Villa were not looking to take their interest in the Frenchman any further paving the way for Celta to lead the chase for his signature.
The La Liga outfit have already fallen short with an opening bid of £2.3m, with Lyon holding out for at least £5.3m for the forward, who only made the move to Bruno Genesis’s side over the summer.
The 27-year-old hasn’t hit the ground running as many had expected since making the switch from Guingamp, with just four goals in 18 league appearances to show for thus far.
