Midfielder's Euro 2016 participation in doubt

Jordan Henderson is sidelined for the remainer of the season with a knee injury sustained in Liverpool's 1-1 Europa League draw with Borussia Dortmund, reports the Daily Mail.

The England international limped off the field off play at the interval after sustaining the problem and scans on Friday confirmed he has damaged the lateral collateral ligament in his left knee.

While he won't need surgery, Henderson will be sidelined for between six and eight weeks, which throws his Euro 2016 participation in doubt.

Roy Hodgson names his 23-man squad for the competition on May 12th and it's touch and go as to whether Henderson will be included, with the England boss a big fan of the Liverpool captain.

Hodgson is already without Jack Butland for the European Championship after the goalkeeper sustained an ankle fracture in England's 3-2 win over Germany.
