Tielemans back on Manchester United radar should Pogba leave
Manchester United are ready to step up their interest in Belgium international Youri Tielemans, according to The Sun.
In what is expected to be a summer of significant change at Old Trafford the youngster, who spent the second half of last season on loan at Leicester from Monaco, has been earmarked as the club prepare for offers for Paul Pogba.
The Foxes remain keen to pursue a permanent deal for Tielemans, whom they wanted to sign on such a basis in January, but after his impressive performances in the Premier League they risk getting priced out of a move.
The 22-year-old’s price tag appears to have almost doubled over the past six months, with his Ligue 1 employers now believed to be demanding a fee in the region of £40m for his services.
From 13 Premier League starts Tielemans had a direct hand in a goal in seven, scoring three and assisting a further four goals, with only Wolves’ Ruben Neves attempting more shots from outside the box per game (1.8).
In order for Manchester United to make the moves that they would like to this summer they will need to sanction the sales of some of their top earners, with Pogba at the front of the queue.
