Liverpool striker may have played last game for the club

Daniel Sturridge may have already played his last game for Liverpool with a hip problem threatening to end his season, reports The Guardian.

The England international’s future under Jurgen Klopp has been in doubt for some time with a summer move away expected even more so now the striker is unlikely to play any part in Liverpool’s remaining games this season.

Sturridge has dropped down the pecking order under Klopp with Roberto Firmino, and often Divock Origi, favoured up front over the 27-year-old, who has struggled to stay fit under the German.

The Liverpool No.15 was sidelined for two months with the initial hip injury and the club are uncertain when the striker will next be available after suffering a reoccurrence of the problem in the build up to their 2-1 defeat to Crystal Palace at the weekend.

This has been Sturridge’s least involved season since joining Liverpool from Chelsea in 2012 having only managed 573 minutes of playing time in the Premier League. He has featured 16 times in total but only five of those have come as starts in the league.
