The agent of Marco Verratti has revealed there have been offers made to sign the Paris Saint-Germain midfielder in January.
Verratti, 24, is widely regarded as one of the best central midfielders in the world and has been linked with a blockbuster move to Chelsea when the transfer window opens in January.
However, Chelsea seemingly appear to be on the back foot in the race to sign the PSG ace after his agent, Donato Di Campli, revealed there ahs been more than one offer passed their way for his services.
“There are a lot of teams interested in him [Verratti], but you’d have to ask PSG,” Di Campli told TeleLombardia, via Football Italia.
“Will he stay in Paris for life? I can assure you no. I can confirm that Verratti has had offers from Italy, but I have no news at the moment.”
Verratti has previously revealed he wants to win the Champions League with PSG before leaving the club but those chances appear slim in the near future given their disastrous start to life under Unai Emery.
The Ligue 1 champions face Barcelona, a team with whom have been linked with Verratti in the past, in the next round of the Champions League. When you consider their form at the moment, progression seems slim.
Only Thiago Motta (95.4) averages more passes per game in Ligue 1 this season than Verratti (88).
