Manchester United and Manchester City have both failed with bids for Juventus defender Alex Sandro, according to Calciomercato.
Sandro, 25, has been in tremendous form for Juventus this season and will gradually start to replace Patrice Evra as their regular left-back over the coming years.
Juventus paid €20m (£15.8m) for Sandro’s services in the summer despite having entered the final 12 months of his deal at Porto, and United and City will reportedly have to pay in excess of €40m (£31.5m) to secure his services.
Not only is Sandro Juventus’ highest rated player in the league this season, but of players to have made at least 15 appearances in Serie A, only Adem Ljajic (25.2 mins) has required fewer minutes per key pass than the Brazilian (28.5 mins).
