Liverpool star set for spell on the sidelines

Liverpool midfielder Adam Lallana is set for a month on the sidelines after sustaining a thigh injury on international duty, reports talkSPORT.

The 28-year-old was absent from club training on Tuesday morning and it has since emerged that he suffered a thigh problem in the 2-0 win over Lithuania on Sunday.

Lallana will now miss Saturday’s welcome of Everton, as well as Premier League meetings with Bournemouth, Stoke, West Bromwich Albion and Crystal Palace.

Lallana has established himself as a key man for the Reds under Jurgen Klopp having scored seven goals and registered a further seven assists in the Premier League this season.

No English player can better his seven Premier League assists this term and it’s no doubt that his absence will hinder the club’s pursuit of a top-4 finish.

Liverpool are currently fourth in England’s top tier, four points ahead of rivals Manchester United, as we come into the final stretch of the campaign, though United have two games in hand over the Reds.
