Juventus manager Max Allegri insists ‘extraordinary’ Alex Sandro will not be sold to Chelsea this summer.
Antonio Conte is keen to raid his former club for the signature of Sandro and the Premier League champions were even willing to pay £61m for the Brazil international.
However, Juventus have already lost Dani Alves and Leonardo Bonucci this summer and selling Sandro would have really questioned the ambition of the Serie A champions.
Sandro has established himself as one of the best full backs in Europe in the last two years and Allegri has ruled out his departure.
“Alex Sandro? He’s a Juventus player, he’s extraordinary and he won’t leave us,” The London Evening Standard quote Sandro as saying.
“He’s improved so much since he came to Juve and he has the margins to improve again. Along with Marcelo, he’s on the best in the world.”
Juventus are reportedly planning to offer Sandro a new contract in order to put the saga to bed, which would be a huge blow for Conte, who wants to strengthen the left side of his defence before the start of the season.
Sandro finished as Juventus’ highest WhoScored rated (7.63) player in Serie A last season.
