Stoke are set to make Badou Ndiaye their third most expensive signing of all-time after agreeing a £15m fee with Galatasaray, reports Sky Sports.
The Potters are now negotiating the payment structure and ironing out the finer details before a deal can be concluded before Wednesday’s deadline.
Ndiaye will fly into England to undergo his medical and discuss personal terms but a deal is made more complex as the Senegal international also needs to obtain a work permit.
Stoke will not sanction a deal until they have assurances the 27-year-old will get a work permit to play in the Premier League, which may push this deal down to the wire.
Only Maicon (1498) has featured in more league minutes than Ndiaye (1477) for Galatasaray this season and his departure would be a huge blow for their title challenge.
Of players that have attempted at least 40 dribbles in the Turkish Super Lig this season, only four players have a better success rate than Ndiaye (72.1%).
