Liverpool frontman set for another spell on the sidelines

 

 

Daniel Sturridge has suffered another set back on his road to regular first-team football after sustaining a hamstring injury ruling him out for another six weeks.

 

The England striker has only returned to first-team action recently, but felt a strain in his leg after coming on in Liverpool’s 2-0 defeat to Newcastle on Sunday and scans have revealed he has endured a hamstring injury. 

 

Sturridge, 26, joined Liverpool from Chelsea in January 2013 but the frontman has spent more than half of that time injured.

In fact, the England international has only completed the full 90 minutes of 24 occasions in the Premier League since then from a possible 60 appearances.
