Tottenham and Chelsea interested in shock move for West Brom striker

Tottenham and Chelsea are among the Premier League sides interested in signing West Brom striker Salomon Rondon this summer, reports The Daily Mirror.

The 28-year-old can leave West Brom for £16m this summer due to a relegation release clause in his existing deal and is expected to be one of several high profile names sold.

Jonny Evans and Nacer Chadli will also leave, but Rondon is attracting surprise interest from London rivals Chelsea and Tottenham.

West Ham are also weighing up a move for the Venezuela international and Manuel Pellegrini’s side would appear the most likely destination for the powerful striker.

Fernando Llorente has been tipped to leave Tottenham this summer and Mauricio Pochettino will need to find someone capable of playing a reserve role to star man Harry Kane.

Chelsea signed Olivier Giroud in January, suggesting an end to their search for a new striker but club-record signing Alvaro Morata has linked with a return to Juventus following a turbulent first campaign at the club.

Only three players won more aerial duels in the Premier League than Rondon last season (162). With a summer move in mind, it’s worth adding the bulking striker to your portfolios on Football INDEX. His share price has increased 7% in the last 24 hours.
