Lacazette not kicking off about Arsenal game time, says agent
The agent of Alexandre Lacazette insists his client has not kicked up a fuss about a lack of game time in the big matches for Arsenal this season.
Arsenal made Lacazette the club’s most expensive signing in the summer after shelling out £46.5m for his signature only for Arsene Wenger to drop him for matches away to Liverpool and Manchester City.
Danny Welbeck and Alexis Sanchez have instead been preferred in attack in the aforementioned games, but Lacazette’s agent, David Venditelli, insists there have been no complaints from his client.
“It’s not worrying, because he played at Chelsea,” he told SFR Sport, via the London Evening Standard. “Our way of working is to relativise things: 11 matches, nine starts.
“Of course, it’s not nice to see that he didn’t start the match, but it was – as Arsene Wenger explained - for tactical reasons.
“He’s learning. Alex needs to have calm around him. He’s happy, and Arsenal are too with his work.
“It’s not because a player doesn’t play, even though it’s two important games of course. He would have preferred to have played them.”
Of all the big name strikers that were signed by Premier League clubs over the summer, Lacazette’s early season form has gone somewhat under the radar compared to the likes of Romelu Lukaku and Alvaro Morata.
Even though the France international is yet to really sparkle for Arsenal, he has still scored six goals in 11 Premier League appearances this season.
In fact, he is only two goals behind top scorers Sergio Aguero and Harry Kane, which shows he is on the right track.
