Palace line up £7m move for England Under-21 international
Crystal Palace are lining up a £7m move for West Brom striker Saido Berahino in a bid to resolve their problems up front, according to The Daily Mail.
Alan Pardew has already been vocal in stating Palace need to spend big in order to keep up with their rivals next season and signing a new striker is thought to be a priority for the Eagles.
Between them, Connor Wickham, Emmanuel Adebayor, Dwight Gayle and Marouane Chamakh only managed nine league goals this season and their inability to find the back of the net proved problematic for Palace as they plummeted down the table.
Berahino has been heavily linked with a move away from the Hawthorns in recent years, although Palace’s pursuit in the England Under-21 international may be short lived if Tottenham re-enter the race to sign him.
The 22-year-old only managed four league goals in 31 appearances for West Brom in the Premier League this season and gained the lowest rating of any Baggies player to have started more than five league games (6.33).
