Paris Saint-Germain have moved a step closer to signing Angel di Maria after reaching an agreement worth €65m (£45.5m) with Manchester United, according to French newspaper L’Equipe.
Financial Fair Play (FFP) scuppered PSG's move for the Argentina international last summer, before the 27-year-old later then joined United for a British club-transfer record £59.7m fee.
However, the former Real Madrid star failed to settle during his first season in the Premier League and has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford all summer.
The Argentine winger is due to meet up with his United teammates on their tour of the US on Saturday, but is not expected to make another appearance for Louis van Gaal’s side with a move to PSG growing closer.
Despite only making 27 appearances in the Premier League last season, Di Maria still managed to make five more assists than his nearest United teammate (10). Meanwhile, only Chelsea’s Cesc Fabregas required fewer minutes (160.6mins) to set up a teammate last season than Di Maria (164.5mins) of players to make 10 or more appearances
