Leicester still waiting for international clearance for Silva
Leicester will not be able to register deadline day signing Adrien Silva until January after FIFA rejected their claim for international clearance, reports Sky Sports.
The Foxes agreed a £22m deal for Silva with Portuguese giants Sporting on deadline day after sanctioning Danny Drinkwater’s sale to Premier League rivals Chelsea.
However, it’s been five days since submitting the paperwork for Silva’s transfer and reports are now emerging suggesting FIFA have declined the move.
Leicester were granted a two-hour extension on deadline day from the Football Association in order to finalise the necessary paperwork but Craig Shakespeare will not be able to use the 28-year-old until January.
No midfielder has completed more tackles in the Portuguese Liga NOS than Silva since the start of last season (92).
