According to The Mirror David Moyes will travel to Milan tomorrow to cast an eye over Inter midfielder Joao Mario when the Nerazzurri host Roma in Serie A.
The 25-year-old has found playing time hard to come by this season, so is by no means assured a place in Sunday night’s fixture, but the West Ham boss will be keen to see the Portugal international in action.
When asked about the club’s interest in Mario earlier in the week Moyes stated “He’s a good player, an interesting player”, and if reports are to be believed a deal is already in place for the former Sporting star to make the move to London.
The deal would be an initial loan move with a view to a bumper permanent transfer given the midfielder signed for Inter for £38m just 18 months ago.
Mario has struggled to make an impact in Italy, however, starting just five of 14 appearances in Serie A this season, registering three assists and boasting an impressive 89.4% pass accuracy.
He was also a regular feature for the Portugal side that won the European Championships in 2016, starting six times.
