Tottenham target turns down new £120,000-a-week contract

Tottenham have received a boost in their pursuit of Wilfried Zaha after the Crystal Palace star turned down a new £120,000-a-week deal, claims The Sun.

Zaha has been heavily linked with a big money move away from Selhurst Park in the last 12 months after developing into one of the best players in the Premier League outside the established ‘top six’.

Palace are determined to fend off interest in Zaha and continue to build a team around their star man after avoiding relegation to the Championship last season.

Roy Hodgson’s side have even tabled the Ivory Coast international with a bumper new deal that would have made the 25-year-old the best paid player in the club’s history.

However, Zaha has rejected Palace’s contract offer and is now pondering a move back to a ‘top six’ club following his failed stint two-year stint at Manchester United that ended in 2015.

Tottenham are desperate to sign a new forward that can play wide and through the middle and have already been linked with United wantaway Anthony Martial and Nice ace Alassane Plea.

Palace lost every game Zaha did not start in the Premier League last season (8), while only Eden Hazard (165) completed more dribbles than the pacey forward (119).
