Liverpool target Joel Matip is re-considering his Schalke future after being offered a new deal that would almost double his wages, claims German newspaper Recklinghauser.
Matip, 24, has already rejected one contract offer from Schalke amid heavy reports linking him with a move to Liverpool.
The Cameroon international’s current deal is due to expire at the end of the season and he is widely expected to move on, although he is now suggested to be leaning towards staying following this latest offer that would almost double his wages.
Since the start of the 2012/13 campaign, only two players have made more interceptions than Matip in the Bundesliga (281).
