Which ex-Arsenal forward ranked supreme in GW7 in Serie A

Gervinho became a laughing stock amongst fans during his two years at Arsenal, but the Ivory Coast international has since found his feet at Roma and in his last three matches in all competitions, in particular. The 28-year-old has scored three goals in his last two Serie A matches and has also been named the WhoScored man of the match in each of those performances, however his best performance of the season came in a 4-2 win away to Palermo at the weekend (9.12).

The Ivorian forward has been shifted to a central role in recent matches with injuries to several players leaving Roma boss Rudi Garcia thin for choice up front and it seems Gervinho has taken the goal scoring burden in his stride having also netted in the Champions League midweek to take his tally in all competitions to four for the season.

Garcia used Gervinho as a lone front man on Sunday, where he netted with both of his shots on target against Palermo. Added to that, no player completed more dribbles than the former Lille winger (3) and only Kostas Manolas (98%) finished proceedings with a better pass success rate than Gervinho (97%) of players to have started the match, which given his role as a lone striker is more than impressive.
