Pep Guardiola would favour a move to Manchester United should he fail to negotiate a new contract with Bayern Munich, reports the Telegraph.
The Spanish manager has long been linked with a move to a Premier League side, which could happen at the end of the season if he is unwilling to extend his stay in Germany.
However, any potential switch would see Louis van Gaal relieved of his duties at Old Trafford, with the Dutchman under contract at United until 2017.
United would face competition to appoint Guardiola, with rivals Manchester City also keen to bringing the Bayern boss to Manchester.
United, though, would have the advantage, with Guardiola keen on taking charge at Old Trafford.

i dont think giggs is ready so im hoping we land someone of pep's ilk as our next manager. pep should finish his bayern contract and then take another sabbatical year to learn manc.
I'm absolutely 100% sure it's not the endless sums of money being splashed about at Man U that's supposedly attracting his attention.
@What4 i'm guessing the club you support is broke. utd have cash but they are far from having a bottomless bag of money.
@What4 he said he want to finish his career pretty soon, so its not pointless that he wants some good money for happy retirement
