West Ham have announced Darren Randolph has put pen to paper on a new four-year deal keeping him at the club until 2020.
Randolph, 29, only joined the Hammers on a free transfer last summer and spent last season as an understudy to No.1 goalkeeper Adrian.
The Republic of Ireland international, however, has still been rewarded with a new deal at the club and is delighted to reach new terms.
“I’ve had a good first year at West Ham and this is another positive thing to happen to me at the end of a good first season and a good summer with Ireland,” Randolph told West Ham’s official website.
“It has gone better than I could have ever expected at West Ham since I joined last summer, playing as many games as I did and then starting for Ireland in the play-off and at Euro 2016.
“Signing a new contract means I want to stay here for a long time and be part of what is going on with the club, moving into a new stadium and a new training ground – it’s very positive and exciting.”
Of goalkeepers that made at least five appearances in the Premier League last season only Adam Federici (44.8%) had a worse save success rate than Randolph (50%).
