Today’s top streaks: The German outfit looking to extend 20-game unbeaten run

There is a full round of Championship matches this week after many were abandoned at the weekend, with the race for automatic promotion well and truly on after yet another Fulham win.

The Cottagers dispatched of Derby on Saturday, meaning they have now beaten three of the remaining top five in their last four matches to move within five points of second place.

Back at Craven Cottage tonight, they host Sheffield United looking to stretch their unbeaten league run to 14 and their winning streak at home to nine matches - a feat that only Northern Irish Premiership leaders Crusaders can match of those in action in world football today.

The side they are gunning to catch in that all important second spot in the Championship is Cardiff, who are eight games unbeaten themselves as they prepare to host relegation threatened Barnsley, looking for a fifth consecutive home win in the league.

Millwall, meanwhile, are looking to make it ten games unbeaten when they face Hull, with Neil Harris’ side making a late push for a play-off spot, while Birmingham begin life under Garry Monk against the manager’s former employers Middlesbrough, with the Blues currently on the longest losing streak (5) of any side playing today.

Elsewhere in Europe, the aforementioned Crusaders will be desperate not to fall at the last hurdle in a bid to go 20 league games unbeaten, but face a tough fixture at third placed Glenavon, who are one of only two sides to have beaten them in the league this season.

Going 20 games unbeaten is something that Regionalliga Southwest outfit Saarbruecken have managed already, hoping to make it 21 tonight away to Stuttgarter Kickers.
