Manchester United have no plans to sell David de Gea this summer even if it means running the risk of losing the Spaniard for nothing at the end of next season, reports the London Evening Standard.
De Gea will only have 12 months left to run on his existing contract at the end of the season and this summer represents the last chance United will have to command a sizeable fee.
Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Juventus are all reportedly monitoring De Gea’s future at Old Trafford after contract talks about a renewal have stalled.
United are willing to hand De Gea a new £350,000-a-week contract to make him the best-paid goalkeeper in the world but are refusing to go any higher.
De Gea wants to be aligned with Alexis Sanchez as the top earner at United and the Chile international earns in excess of £400,000-a-week.
Despite the fact there is no resolution in sight in talks with De Gea, United are not under pressure to sell and are even prepared to continue contract talks into next season.
The 28-year-old, who is regarded as the best goalkeeper in Europe, will be free to discuss a Bosman transfer with foreign teams in January 2020.
Only Lukasz Fabisanki (122) and Neil Etheridge (112) have made more saves than De Gea (104) in the Premier League this season.
