AC Milan’s joint-CEO Adriano Galliani has revealed president Silvio Berlusconi is “pleased” with the impact Mario Balotelli has made since returning to the club over the summer.
The Serie A giants resigned Balotelli on a season-long loan deal from Liverpool late last month and the 25-year-old has already hit the ground running after marking his first start with a sublime goal on Tuesday evening.
In fact, his fifth minute free-kick against Udiense was his first competitive goal since February and Galliani confirmed the club are happy with how he has settled.
“The president is pleased with him,” Galliani told Alfredo Pedulla’s website.
“Getting him was my idea, but without the OK from the president, he wouldn’t have come. The choice was later endorsed by [coach Sinisa] Mihajlovic, who met Mario in a parking lot at night after the Fiorentina game.
“A love blossomed between the two. Sinisa offered guarantees for Mario, and so he returned to Milanello.”
Only four Milan players have garnered a higher WhoScored rating than Balotelli so far this season in Serie A (7.18).
